NFL end of regular season week 17 picks (3 for 5 last week)

Take the Chicago Bears on the road against the Houston Texans getting 3 points. This is line is funny, it started as the Bears a 1 point favorite, what changed to give them 3 ? They are playing for a shot at the playoffs and the division, with some help. The Texans are out of the picture but are playing at home and for pride after getting beat by the Raiders last week. I have to take the Bears now getting a field goal, with something to play for. Bears + 3

Take the Detroit Lions getting 11 at the Green Bay Packers. The Lions have said this is there Superbowl and they need the win to avoid being the first team to go 0-16. The Packers have been garbage as of late but have a huge advantage playing a dome team  at the frozen tundra. I think 11 points is too much though, take the Lions getting 11. Lions + 11

Take the Oakland Raiders getting 2 touchdowns on the road against the Tampa Bay Bucs. The Bucs are playing for a playoff birth and it is a must win, I see them winning the game by 10 but not covering the spread. Oakland played well last week, lets hope that continues.  Raiders + 14

Take the Kansas CIty Chiefs getting a field goal on the road at the Cincinatti Bengals. Both teams have been playing better as of late but the Chiefs have been in a lot of close games this year. Chiefs + 3

Take the Pittsburgh Steelers giving 11 points to the Cleveland Browns in Pittsburgh. The Browns are the worst team in football right now and have not scored an offensive touchdown in almost 2 months! I know the Steelers have there spot in the playoffs locked, I just can’t see them letting down. Steelers -11

over 50

The game for all the marbles and the AFC West Division is a tough line. I like the San Diego Chargers winning at home against the Denver Broncos but do not like them giving up 9 points. Instead I will take the over 50 point scored total, as I see this as a shoot out. Take the Over 50 points

This Sunday afternoon game will be the biggest of the day as the Dallas Cowboys are a 1.5 underdog on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. For Dallas it is win and your in, the Eagles need a win and a little bit of luck. I will take Dallas getting the point and a half.  Cowboys+ 1.5

May I suggest our most popular dish … the Biel Parmesan

The Biel is great Parmesan or skimpy, I mean scampi. It is Justin Timberlake’s meal of choice.

Veteran Justin Eilers Murdered

Justin Eilers

UFC, WEC, and EliteXC veteran Justin Eilers died early this morning as the result of a single gun shot wound to the chest suffered during a domestic dispute at the home of an acquaintance in Canyon County, Idaho.

Canyon County Sheriffs arrived at the house at 10:44pm MT to find Eilers wounded and were unable to save the fighter’s life. According to reports, Eilers had gathered at the house with relatives and friends to celebrate Christmas but an argument reportedly arose between Eilers and his ex-girlfriend, who was also present at the residence. The dispute then escalated, culminating with James Robert Malec, believed to be the boyfriend of Eilers’ mother, shooting Eilers once in the chest with several family members witnessing the attack. Malec was apprehended by authorities and has been charged with second-degree murder.

Following his collegiate football football career as a linebacker at Iowa State, Eilers was recruited to Miletich Fighting Systems by Jens Pulver, eventually making his MMA debut in late-2002. He holds a 19-7-1 record as a professional fighter, including a 1-3 mark in the UFC. Following an 8-2-1 start to his career, Eilers debuted in the octagon, stopping Mike Kyle via first-round knockout. Despite losing to Paul Buentello at UFC 51, Eilers challenged Andrei Arlovski for the heavyweight title, losing in the first-round due to a knee injury. A third-consecutive loss suffered to Brandon Vera marked Eilers’ last appearance in the UFC but after winning 10 of his next 11 bouts Eilers challenged Antonio Silva for the first-ever EliteXC heavyweight championship, losing via second-round TKO. He was 30-years-old.

Another sad tale for the sports in a week. MMA is becoming more dangerous than Gangsta Rap.
