Cowboys End Work Release Program, Cut Pacman!
The Dallas Cowboys parted ways with troubled cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones after allegations arose of him being allegedly involved in a shooting that took place in 2007. Reporter for the show “Outside The Lines” John Barr contacted the Cowboys, Pacman and others in response to a piece set to air on Sunday in which three men allege that Jones arranged for someone to shoot them outside an Atlanta strip club. This incident took place just two months after Pacman Jones was suspended by Commissioner Roger Goodell for the entire 2007 season. One of the victims said a beef he had with Jones is what sparked the shooting. Atlanta detectives were informed of Jones’ alleged involvement, but could not make a case. This case remains open, though is not being activly worked. Meanwhile Jones is outraged by the allegations. He told the Dallas Morning News, “It will be a lawsuit in a week against ESPN. That’s stupid. It’s so stupid I have no more comments.” As for him being released he said, “Surprised? Yeah, I was surprised. All I can do is keep working hard, keep my nose clean and hope for the best.” This ends a one year run with the Cowboys where Jones missed six games after being suspended due to a scuffle with a bodyguard in a Dallas area hotel.
I’ve been advised by people close to me not to comment on this story, in fear of retaliation and possibly being shot. Pacman is a asset to our society, and I don’t see him being out of football for long. His work with the underprivliged “entertainers” of America, and his ability to “Make It Rain” are just some of his many philanthropic deeds.
