NFL Playoffs Round 2 (3 for 4 last week)

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Take the Baltimore Ravens getting 3 points on the road against the Tennesse Titans. It will be a battle since both teams are known for defense. I think its a pretty even contest but i think the Ravens have the best player on the field in Ed Reed. Take the 3 points in a close game. Ravens + 3

Take the Carolina Panthers at home to cover 9.5 against the Arizona Cardinals. The cardinals won’t be able to run like they did last week and Julius Peppers and CO. are one hard hit from taking Warner out of the game. Anquan Boldin status is uncertain at this point, even with him Carolina covers. Expect a big game from Deangelo Williams. Panthers – 9.5

Chris Carter says he would shoot T.O. (Owens responds with a blog post)

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Source (Yardbarker.com)

Carter, the ESPN announcer, said this of Terrell Owens on two radio shows: “I’d take one bullet and put it right in him. BAM!” Later one, Carter, on another ESPN radio show said, “If I got a gun I got one bullet in it, I shoot T.O. right now. Right on the spot. [...] (Comments made 2 days ago)

This is T.O.’s response in witch he actually blogged on the Yardbarker.com site.

What Cris Carter said

Hey Yardbarker… This is T.O. and I want to tell you this myself. People ask me what I thought about what Cris Carter said about me a few days ago. All I know is, if I’d been the one who had said that about him, what would everyone have thought?

I like the double standard in the NFL, if Carter had said these comments about Peyton Manning, he would of at least had to make an apology and might have been suspended. Since it is T.O., it is business as usual on Sesame Street.

If she saw the pics, and is still down, Micah should scoop her up as his trophy wife right away.  In his defense, it was awfully cold, and we all know about shrivelledge.

TNT To Barkley, You Blew It. A .149 That Is!

Saturday, January 10th, 2009
She did it like this

She did it like this

As seen on ESPN.com

Charles Barkley is taking a leave of absence from the broadcast booth.

The announcement by Turner Sports came Friday, hours after police said the 45-year-old former NBA star was legally drunk when police arrested him Dec. 31 on suspicion of drunken driving in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Test results show Barkley had a blood-alcohol level at .149, nearly twice the legal limit of .08 in Arizona.

While waiting for results of the blood test, TNT considered suspending Barkley if the results showed his blood-alcohol content was over the legal limit, a source told ESPN.com.

Barkley will be off the air for a minimum of several weeks and no return date has been set, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press. The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss it.

“I have spoken with Charles Barkley regarding the incident. .. and I understand he has hired a lawyer to represent him regarding this matter,” said David Levy, president of TNT Sports, in a statement. “When I spoke with Charles, he was apologetic for the events that transpired and it was obvious he understands the significance of the situation. This is an important time for Charles as he deals with the legal and personal issues that confront him. Charles is a valued part of the Turner Sports organization and we are concerned for his well-being.”

A Gilbert officer working a regional DUI task force stopped Barkley shortly after he left a popular nightclub at about 1:30 a.m. He failed field sobriety tests but was cooperative.

Barkley was booked and released at a field command post and later issued a statement saying he was disappointed he put himself in that situation.

Barkley’s attorney wasn’t immediately available for comment Friday.

Damn that must have been some good head.  TNT had their hands tied on this one.  They can’t fire the guy because he brings in the ratings.  Barkley is smart, he will get a little vacation, and be back with TNT before the playoffs start.  With all the recent DUI’s, the NBA can’t be happy about this…
