AJ McLean wants it his way…Back Street Boy drunk in the street

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Source(TMZ)

AJ McLean is a recovering alcoholic — so it was heartbreaking to see the Backstreet Boy stumbling out of the Key Club last night, appearing to be wasted out of his mind.

AJ McLean: Click to watch

As McLean nearly falls into the street, one of his friends calls him out — right out in the middle of Hollywood — emotionally confronting the guy who went to rehab for alcohol and cocaine abuse in 2001… and again in 2002.

Witnesses inside the Key Club say they saw McLean taking shots and drinking beers during the show. After the confrontation, McLean’s friends forced him into a cab and sent him home.

McLean was reportedly six years sober in 2008. Calls to McLean’s rep have not yet been returned.

I would drink  too if I was touched by Lou Pearlman.

Five not so played out Superbowl 43 Topics

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Source(ChicagoTribune.com)

You will hear all week from Tampa about Kurt Warner’s tight connection with the almighty — and that’s not a reference to Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

You will see frequent references to Fitzgerald being the son of a sportswriter, Larry Sr., because the media are fascinated one of their own could spawn a child capable of making headlines instead of writing them.

Inevitably, you will have the dreaded comparison between Fitzgerald’s hair and Steelers safety Troy Polamalu’s. You will have injury information about Hines Ward’s knee guarded as if it contained President Obama’s Blackberry address.

You will have all the big names, from Big Ben Roethlisberger to Edgerrin James, receiving bigger coverage than ever as they dominate Super Bowl XLIII story lines.

But here are five under-the-radar guys unlikely to create much buzz among the 4,000 credentialed media members — until Sunday’s kickoff at 5:18 p.m., when their contributions could affect the outcome as much as any other player’s.

The NFL where a contract is one sided(minus your bonus) ask LaDainian Tomlinson

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

Source(ESPN.com)

Shawne Merriman says the lights need to be turned out on the public back-and-forth between Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson and general manager AJ Smith.

“That [stuff] doesn’t help bring a Super Bowl to San Diego,” the Chargers’ star linebacker said, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune. “And that [stuff] needs to stop, period. It needs to stop now.”

Last week, Tomlinson said on his Web site that he plans to continue his career in San Diego, barring a trade from the team. Smith appeared to take Tomlinson lightly by seemingly mocking his comments in quotes to the Union-Tribune.
