Learn MorePepsi beats BudWeiser in Superbowl XLIII Sunday Ads (Hurry 2 ad spots left says NBC)
Last Updated on Thursday, 29 January 2009 11:18 Written by admin Thursday, 29 January 2009 11:18
| Source(Bizzofffootball.com) |
With Super Bowl XLIII now just three days away, NBC has reported that all but two of slots of their ad inventory has been sold, with 12 of the 30-second slots selling for $3 million, and the rest selling in the “high two millions” according to Dick Ebersol, chairman of NBC Sports and Olympics in a conference call on Weds. In total, NBC has 67 slots available over the course of NBC’s coverage.
NBC’s $3 million rate for 30-seconds is a 12 percent increase from the $2.7 million that FOX charged for last year’s Super Bowl between the Giants and Patriots. The inability of NBC to fill all their ad inventory at the $3 million rate is being tied to the downturn in the economy which in turn has lowered ad budgets for many corporations. Both General Motors and FedEx – staples of prior Super Bowl advertisers – have backed out of this year’s game. In other Super Bowl advertisement news… PepsiCo has surpassed Anheuser Busch InBev as the biggest advertiser for Sunday’s game. The soda and snack manufacturer will fill 5.5 minutes of ad space while Anheuser Busch will fill 4.5 minutes. The other new ad sold is for Cash4Gold, which touts sending your gold to the company in return for cash. The ad will feature Ed McMahon and MC Hammer, according to Cash4Gold. Last year’s Super Bowl between the Patriots and the Giants was viewed by a record 97.5 million people nationwide, the most-watched TV broadcast in 2008. Advertisers spent over $195 million for ad slots for that game. |
Top 10 Selling NBA Jerseys 2009
Last Updated on Friday, 30 January 2009 04:36 Written by admin Thursday, 29 January 2009 10:43
The NBA just released their rankings of top 10 most popular jerseys since the start of the 2008-2009 season. A lot of these guys have been all-stars for years, however, I was surprised to see a rookie on the list and another surprise entry. The list is ranked in order from No. 1 to No. 10.
| Kobe Bryant – Los Angeles Lakers | ![]() |
| Kevin Garnett – Boston Celtics | ![]() |
| Lebron James – Cleveland Cavaliers | ![]() |
| Chris Paul – New Orleans Hornets | ![]() |
| Allen Iverson – Detroit Pistons | ![]() |
| Pau Gasol – Los Angeles Lakers | ![]() |
| Paul Pierce – Boston Celtics | ![]() |
| Dwayne Wade – Miami Heat | ![]() |
| Derrick Rose – Chicago Bulls | ![]() |
| Nate Robinson – New York Knicks | ![]() |
The biggest surprise on the list for me Nate Robinson of the New York Knicks. Sure he won the 2006 Slam Dunk competition, but I don’t see him as a superstar in the league. Can’t you see guys like Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O’Neal, Steve Nash or Dirk Nowitzki being on the top 10 list ahead of Robinson? Maybe New York fans need a jersey to buy and he’s really all they have, or maybe I just don’t watch enough basketball?
Nate Robinson is in the top 10 because his jersey is the one Verne Troy buys, also Asian basketball fans overseas and kids under 10.

As Seen on Foxsports.com
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes‘ childhood was much like that of any other youngster in rural south Florida. He played backyard football. Chased squirrels. Ran around with his friends.
This was different: Despite being a promising athlete, Holmes also spent a year selling drugs on a street corner in his small hometown.

Edge James ” I only rent tents and bouncehouses” buys new Lambo at Superbowl !!
Last Updated on Thursday, 29 January 2009 03:04 Written by admin Thursday, 29 January 2009 03:04
Edge’s sweet (and own) ride
So we brought you the other day the story of Edgerrin James and his new car. Well, when the Cards got back from media day yesterday and Edge asked if I had taken a picture of the car yet. Which I hadn’t (but I took care of that later that night). Anyway, I made the mistake – because I thought I had seen something written about Edge renting the Lamborghini – of asking Edge if he bought or rented.
“Cash, straight out the door!” Edge told me, before considering that I even had to ask the question. So a few seconds later, Edge, walking with some of his teammates, expressed his incredulity. “Hey, Urb wanted to know if I rented!” Edge bellowed. “I only rent tents and bouncehouses.”
Edge always has been good about putting on parties for his kids and the old neighborhood.
I suppose I should have known better.

O yeah, well you ain’t a big dog till you buy tents and bounce houses!! I will make a statement, If the Cards win on Sunday Edge joins Warner as sure Hall of Famers !!

Learn MoreBarry Bonds a Menace to Society (Feds to Bonds you know you f&^& up right?)
Last Updated on Thursday, 29 January 2009 02:17 Written by admin Thursday, 29 January 2009 02:17
You may remember back in 2001 when Barry Bonds was in the midst of his chase of the single-season home run record, there was a lot of talk about his possible steroid use. If you don’t recall that, how was your trip to Antarctica, anyway? There was also a quote from Bonds at the time in which he said that baseball could test him every day and he’d never test positive. Of course, considering that we sit here eight years later and there still isn’t a reliable test for HGH, that doesn’t exactly say much.
Learn MoreTime to get down to business for CC Sabathia (No NBA All Star Weekend) HeyKobe.com Exclusive
Last Updated on Thursday, 29 January 2009 01:00 Written by admin Thursday, 29 January 2009 12:59
An insider for HeyKobe.com spoke with newly acquired New York Yankees ace C.C. Sabathia yesterday. The purpose for the call, was to personally invite C.C. to the HeyKobe.com NBA All Star Friday at Fridays, Celeb Bash, inside Chase Field (formerly Bank One Ball Park). C.C. had to decline the invitation and all other invitations he received for that weekend, because he is focused on the start of camp, as pitchers and catchers have their first workout Saturday Feb. 14th. If that dates sounds familiar, that’s Valentines day as well! I am sure he will have something nice planned for Vallejo High School sweetheart and wife Amber Sabathia.
