Detroit Lions should trade 2009 #1 pick to Broncos for Jay Cutler !!

The above picture is funny (not really) but on a serious note, I have not gotten word on the following scenario but I will play GM for a second and suggest that the Detroit Lions use the number 1 pick in the 2009 draft to trade the Denver Broncos for QB Jay Cutler. The deal makes sense (cents) on a few levels. It would be a great pick up for the Lions as they would get a better QB in Cutler than they would drafting one. They are currently rumored to like University of Georgia QB Matt Safford but if they take him at 1 they will be paying an unproven player more money than a young Pro-Bowler (Cutler) with much of it guaranteed in the form of a signing bonus. The first QB taken could possibly look to get Matt Ryan money or more (but they aren’t Matt Ryan). There are some talented QB’ in this draft but none of them in my opinion will be a Matt Ryan an Eli Manning or a Jake Cutler., so why pay them like one or more ! Can you imagine the excitement Detroit Fans would get (and they deserve it) watching Jay Cutler throw to the best WR in football (sorry Fitz) Calvin Johnson, for the next 10 seasons. The duo could be legendary, and while the Lions try and get their mess of an 0-16 season season back on track, put on a show that’s entertaining, at least.

After Shaquille O’Neal lit up the Toronto Raptors for 45 points on Friday night, Chris Bosh accused Shaq of camping in the lane, and said officials gave him special treatment by not calling him for three second violations. Well, Shaq has heard enough and responded by calling Bosh, “the Rupaul of big men” and saying he’s, “going to do the same thing (in their next meeting) I did before – make him quit. Make ‘em quit and complain. It’s what I do.”
Shaq calling out Bosh’s manhood is great for the NBA. Can’t wait for their next game against each other. I always thought Chris was a little flamboyant, maybe The Big Cactus knows a little more than we do.

Learn MorePats turn down 12th pick overall for Cassel (how do you say tampering ?)

Circumstances surrounding the Matt Cassel trade keep getting curiouser and curiouser.
The more we learn, the more inexplicable it gets.
The New England Patriots sent Cassel and linebacker Mike Vrabel to the Kansas City Chiefs for the 34th overall selection in this year’s draft, compensation that seemed a little weak on the surface.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has since reported there was a much better offer on the table, that the Patriots passed on the 12th overall pick in a three-way trade that would’ve sent Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Patriots did business with Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli, who for the previous nine years worked closely with Bill Belichick in the Patriots’ front office. It must be noted new Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels was Belichick’s offensive coordinator in New England.
