LONG BEACH, Calif. – A hospital worker shot and killed two employees and then killed himself at a medical center Thursday, sending panicked people fleeing, police and witnesses said.
The gunman was identified as Mario Ramirez, 50, of Alhambra, who died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. The victims were Hugo Bustamante, 46, of Cypress, who died at the scene, and Kelly Hales, 56, of Redondo Beach, who was taken to the hospital’s emergency room in critical condition and died several hours later.
Police Chief Anthony Batts said the gunfire erupted just before noon at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. He said the motive remained under investigation but noted the violence came amid a flurry of recent shootings in the country.
“This is a trend of active shooters that you have seen nationwide,” Batts said at a news conference. “This is becoming a national trend, probably because of the tension that’s going on in our society today.”

DENVER — Sacramento Kings owner Joe Maloof won’t be getting an apology from Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin for his hard foul on Spencer Hawes earlier this week.
“Apologize to him? I’m not apologizing to him. I apologized to Spencer after the game, but before he opens his mouth he needs to know what’s going on,” Martin said.
MartinHawes strained his troublesome left knee on a scary play in Denver Monday night.
Martin fouled Hawes as the Kings center was going for a layup in the first quarter of Denver’s 118-98 win. Hawes landed awkwardly and his knee swelled up. He returned after a timeout to shoot the free throws but then left for the locker room and didn’t return.

Jamie Foxx has since apologized for his comments about 16 year old Miley Cyrus but her father, Billy Ray Cyrus may not soon forget. “It was hurtful, there wasn’t nothing funny about it, and quite frankly, I think if I said those things about his daughter he might not find it so comedic,” Billy Ray Cyrus says on The Bonnie Hunt Show today.
I have to give Billy Ray credit, most other celeb dads play the politics game and keep quiet, if that was me, I would have beat Jamie Foxx’s A$$ , he would have wished he was Willie Beeman

NBC has just announced that John Madden will retire from broadcasting today. Madden finished his career working the Sunday night game for NBC but since leaving coaching in 1979, he has worked on all 4 Major Television Networks.
“It’s time,” Madden said. “I’m 73 years old. My 50th wedding anniversary is this fall. I have two great sons and their families and their five grandchildren are at an age now when they know when I’m home and, more importantly, when I’m not.”
The last game the 73 year old Madden called was this past Superbowl between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals.
It’s like waking up on Christmas Day eating cookies, your looking over here, looking over there, then Bam !! and there it is !! typical Madden It’s crazy he will be more known for his video game than anything else when it is said and done !!

Learn MoreAshton Kutcher getting “Punked” by CNN in Twitter race !!
Last Updated on Thursday, 16 April 2009 12:53 Written by admin Thursday, 16 April 2009 12:53

It’s pretty cool when you get to see history in the making. Even if it’s a lame-o celebrity pissing match.
I just happened to be watching “Larry King Live” when his interview with Sharron Stone was interrupted to report that Ashton Kutcher had just called out CNN in his latest Twitter post. WTF indeed. In an obvious attempt to stroke his own ego, Ashton has made a public bet to beat CNN to one million Twitter followers. If he wins, he’ll ding-dong ditch CNN owner Ted Turner’s home in Atlanta. WTF, again.
At last count, Ashton is trailing with 876,738 to CNN’s 931,942.
Until five minutes ago, I had no intention of ever tweeting with CNN. But if by doing so I’ll be able to crush Mr. Demi Moore’s spirit, I’ll be more than happy to take one for the team.
It looks over for Ashton, he’d better pull out some Nude Demi Moore pics and post them on his account to closen the gap !!

No Hitter High (Clovis West 3 no no’s in 6 games !!)
Last Updated on Wednesday, 15 April 2009 11:55 Written by admin Thursday, 16 April 2009 12:00
Clovis West High School baseball coach Kevin Patrick knew he had a lot of pitching talent going into the season. He just didn’t know the school, located in Fresno, Calif., was on its way to becoming No-Hitter High.

| J.D. Salles threw the third no-hitter of the season fro Clovis. |
When J.D. Salles struck out the last batter during a tournament victory, it was Clovis West’s third no-hitter in the first six games this season.
The three pitchers who threw no-hitters – Salles, Sean Silva, and Jared Lee – are Division I prospects. (Salles has signed with Fresno State, and Lee will play for UNLV. Silva has not decided on a school.) Moreover, since none of the pitchers played football last fall, the entire pitching staff was able to work during the offseason and fall ball on mechanics with pitching coach Shawn Hannah, a former pitcher with the Detroit Tigers.
The team’s remarkable run started Feb. 27 on the first day of the season with Silva on the mound during the second game of a doubleheader against Rocklin Academy. Salles said teammates didn’t mention the potential no-hitter to the pitcher, as tradition dictates. Then when the last pitch crossed the plate, Salles said, “Everybody just ran to the mound. [Silva] was excited. He doesn’t show much emotion, but he showed a smile for that one.”
It didn’t take long for Clovis West’s pitchers to strike again. The next game was on March 3, the first game of the Coca-Cola Baseball Classic Tournament, and Aaron Garabedian, a senior making his first varsity appearance, was pitching against Beyer High School. As the game reached the late innings, Salles said players once again tried to avoid broaching the subject with the pitcher, but they did discuss it with each other.
