NEW YORK — Manny Ramirez was suspended for 50 games by Major League Baseball on Thursday, becoming the latest high-profile player ensnared in the sport’s drug scandals.

The Los Angeles Dodgers star said he did not take steroids and was prescribed medication by a doctor that contained a banned substance. The commissioner’s office didn’t announce the specific violation by the 36-year-old outfielder, who apologized to the Dodgers and fans for “this whole situation.”

Miss California (for now) Carrie Prejean doesn’t believe in same-sex marriage — but what about sex before marriage … on camera?

In the wake of Carrie’s topless photo controversy, Vivid Entertainment — one of the biggest adult film companies in the world — has decided to test Prejean’s moral toughness with a $1 million offer to star in one of their “films.”

In the formal offer, mailed off to Prejean late Wednesday afternoon, Vivid makes it clear, “This is purely a business offer and has nothing to do with your religion or your personal beliefs.”

It’s doubtful Prejean would accept, but a quick survey of biblically correct heterosexual males shows they would support her overwhelmingly if she did.

Depending on what the other pics look like, maybe she should take it, maybe she can broker a deal to get Michael Phelps in it with her !!

Store bosses have seen off burglars by placing a life-sized photo of Hollywood action star Chuck Norris in the window.

The posh bakery shop in Split, Croatia, had been broken into almost every week until they put up the poster of the karate champ with a sign saying: “This shop is under the protection of Chuck Norris.”
