On January 8, 2010, ESPN Boxing Analyst Teddy Atlas revealed that a source, whom he trusts, told him that he saw emails sent from people at Pacquiao’s camp to people at Mayweather’s camp asking “What would the penalty be if our guy tested positive?”

Floyd Mayweather was ready to rumble with a famous nemesis in Vegas this weekend — but just before a fight broke out, Diddy saved the day.

It all went down at the grand opening of Vanity nightclub in the Hard Rock Hotel — which was hosted by Diddy. We’re told Floyd Mayweather rolled over to the party to see Diddy, when he literally ran into rapper Rick Ross.

LAS VEGAS — Manny Pacquiao has always been willing to spill blood to win a fight. He’s not nearly as eager to give blood to get a fight.

The fate of Pacquiao’s planned March 13 megafight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. hangs in the balance. Both sides traded jabs Wednesday over Mayweather’s insistence that the two submit to Olympic-style drug testing amid indications that both were open to a possible compromise.

LAS VEGAS — Floyd Mayweather Jr. weighed in at 146 pounds on Friday afternoon, two pounds heavier than the weight stipulated in the contract for his comeback fight against lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The excess weight will cost Mayweather $300,000 per pound, meaning Marquez will get an additional $600,000 on top of his $3.2 million guarantee, a source told ESPN.com. Mayweather’s minimum guarantee is $10 million, a figure likely to dramatically increase after the pay-per-view receipts are counted.
